96 points for the 2024 Chardonnay

2024 Granjoux Chardonnay was released in early August 2026 and quickly sold out. Ahead of its official release (August 15), we shared an early review from Campbell Mattinson at The WineFront. Awarding the wine 96 points, Campbell describes it as:

"A seriously powerful white wine. Beechworth Chardonnay really steps up to the plate here."

He goes on to highlight aromas and flavours of white peach, almonds, cedarwood, crushed fennel and smoky mineral complexity, noting that while the oak is initially prominent, the wine's fruit, earth and stony character quickly take centre stage. His final assessment is perhaps the most exciting of all:

"This will be a killer wine once it's had some extra time in bottle."

The 2024 Chardonnay continues our philosophy of crafting small-production, site-driven wines that reward patience and express the remarkable character of Beechworth. With only a limited number of bottles produced, only our mailing list members and select retail partners were able to secure allocation.

In early September (01), we also had another review for this wine, with it being awarded 96 points, from Jeni Port for Halliday Wine Companion. Jeni describes the wine as:

“…an exceptional chardonnay of quiet power and beauty.” She continues to detail the tasting notes of citrus fruit, white peach, nectarine, preserved lemon, grapefruit pith, ginger, with an element of flinty minerality.

“Fruit concentration, savoury nuance and tension meet a high-energy acidity, and the result is a pure delight. If you can be patient, give it time.”
